Ambly Privacy Policy
Ambly is an iPhone and Apple Watch app in which a small creature grows from the exercise you do. It is made by Hyun Sik (Derek) Kim, an individual developer (“we”). Ambly has no accounts and no ads. This policy explains what the app uses, where it is kept, and what leaves your device.
1. Information Ambly uses
- Apple Health (read only). Step counts and workouts (the workout type, start and end time). These grow your creature and power the activity history and achievements. Ambly never writes to Apple Health.
- Active calories (optional, read only). Only if you turn on Show calories in Settings, which asks Apple Health for this separately. Shown on your creature’s screen and nowhere else; never stored, and never used for growth.
- Motion & Fitness. Your live step count, walking pace and motion activity, used on your device to update the step numbers you see and to choose your creature’s animation.
- Height and weight (optional, asked once). Used to choose one of five body shapes for your creature. The height and weight are not saved; only the body shape is saved with your creature.
- What you do in the app. Your creatures and their names, eggs, achievements, the activities you start in the app, and interactions with your creature.
2. Where it is stored
- On this device only: your daily step and workout totals, workout history, and the activities you start in the app. They are never uploaded. On a new device, Ambly rebuilds them from Apple Health. Active calories are read from Apple Health each time they are shown and are not stored at all.
- Synced through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), so they can be restored on your other devices: your creatures and their names, eggs, achievements, each creature’s growth progress (experience points, which are based on your steps and workouts), and the day each creature or egg started, which is what lets a new device rebuild your history.
Your creature and its step and growth totals are also sent to your paired Apple Watch, and shared with Ambly’s widgets and Live Activities on the same device. We cannot access your iCloud data.
Health, motion, height and weight data are never sent to us, and never used for advertising or marketing. What the services below receive is listed there.
3. Services that receive data
- Google Firebase Analytics (Google LLC), to understand how the app is used. It receives app events: finishing setup and the exercise preference chosen there, whether Health access was granted, egg progress milestones, hatching, your creature’s level and growth stage, activities you start in the app and their type, screens opened, how the app was opened (for example from a widget or a notification) and roughly how long since it was last opened, wardrobe items tried on, and which product was purchased or why a purchase did not complete. It also receives a few facts about your setup: whether the device counts steps, a watch is paired, a widget is added and notifications are on, and roughly how many creatures you have. And standard device information: device model, iOS and app version, a random app-instance identifier, and approximate country or region derived from your IP address. It does not receive step counts, workout details, calories, height, weight or your creature’s name. It is not linked to your identity, and Ambly does not use the advertising identifier. - RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), to provide purchases. Each time the app starts, it receives a randomly generated ID and basic device and app information. When you buy or redeem a Rehatch, a New egg or a wardrobe item, it also receives the purchase details (product, price, date, App Store country). RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple. Payments, iCloud, Apple Health and notifications are provided by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment details.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
4. Notifications
The notifications Ambly shows you, such as an egg being ready, are scheduled on your device; no notification server sends them. You can turn them off in Ambly’s Settings or in iPhone Settings.
5. How long information is kept, and how to delete it
- App data stays on your device and in your iCloud until you delete it. Deleting Ambly removes everything kept only on the device; to delete the rest, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Storage) → Ambly and delete its data. Deleted data is removed by Apple and cannot be recovered.
- Analytics data is kept by Google for a limited period under its retention settings, then deleted.
- Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and Apple as long as needed to provide purchases and meet legal and accounting obligations.
- You can remove Health and Motion access at any time in the Health app or iPhone Settings.
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and your iCloud data is protected by your Apple Account.
6. Transfers outside your country
While you use the app, the information listed in section 3 is sent over the network to Google LLC and RevenueCat, Inc. in the United States (and other countries where they operate), and kept for the periods in section 5. Their contact details are in the privacy policies linked above. If you do not want this, you can stop using the app.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to ask us to stop processing it. Email us to make a request. Because analytics and purchase records are not linked to your name or an account, we may need details from you, such as your purchase date, to find them.
8. Children
Ambly is not directed at children under 13 (under 14 in Korea), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.

Ambly는 실제로 한 운동으로 작은 창조물이 자라는 iPhone·Apple Watch 앱이에요. 개인 개발자 김현식(Derek Kim, 이하 “저희”)이 만들었어요. Ambly에는 계정과 광고가 없어요. 이 방침은 앱이 어떤 정보를 사용하고, 어디에 보관하며, 무엇이 기기 밖으로 나가는지 설명해요.
1. 처리하는 정보와 목적
- Apple 건강(읽기 전용). 걸음 수와 운동 기록(운동 종류, 시작·종료 시각). 창조물 성장, 활동 기록, 업적에 사용해요. 건강 앱에 데이터를 쓰지 않아요.
- 활동 칼로리(선택, 읽기 전용). 설정에서 칼로리 표시를 켠 경우에만, Apple 건강에 따로 요청해 읽어요. 창조물 화면에만 표시되고, 저장하지 않으며, 성장에도 쓰지 않아요.
- 동작 및 피트니스. 실시간 걸음 수, 걸음 속도, 동작 상태. 기기에서 화면의 걸음 수를 갱신하고 창조물의 동작을 고르는 데 사용해요.
- 키와 몸무게(선택, 한 번만 질문). 창조물의 체형을 다섯 가지 중 하나로 정하는 데 사용해요. 키와 몸무게는 저장하지 않으며, 정해진 체형만 창조물과 함께 저장돼요.
- 앱 안에서의 기록. 창조물과 이름, 알, 업적, 앱에서 시작한 활동, 창조물과의 상호작용.
2. 보관 위치
- 이 기기에만 보관: 하루 걸음 수와 운동 합계, 운동 기록, 앱에서 시작한 활동. 업로드되지 않으며, 새 기기에서는 Apple 건강 데이터로 다시 만들어요. 활동 칼로리는 표시할 때마다 Apple 건강에서 읽을 뿐 저장하지 않아요.
- 본인의 비공개 iCloud 계정(Apple CloudKit)에 동기화되어 다른 기기에서 복원: 창조물과 이름, 알, 업적, 창조물별 성장 진행도(걸음 수와 운동을 바탕으로 한 경험치), 각 창조물과 알이 시작된 날짜(새 기기에서 기록을 다시 만드는 데 사용).
창조물과 걸음·성장 합계는 연결된 Apple Watch로 전송되고, 같은 기기의 Ambly 위젯 및 실시간 현황과 공유돼요. 저희는 사용자의 iCloud 데이터에 접근할 수 없어요.
건강·동작·키·몸무게 정보는 저희에게 전송되지 않으며, 광고나 마케팅에 사용되지 않아요. 아래 서비스가 받는 정보는 3항에 적었어요.
3. 데이터를 받는 서비스
- Google Firebase Analytics(Google LLC) — 앱 사용 현황 파악 목적. 앱 이벤트: 설정 완료와 그때 고른 운동 선호, 건강 접근 허용 여부, 알 진행 단계, 부화, 창조물의 레벨과 성장 단계, 앱에서 시작한 활동과 그 종류, 열어 본 화면, 앱을 연 경로(위젯·알림 등)와 마지막으로 연 뒤 지난 대략의 기간, 옷장에서 입어 본 아이템, 구매한 상품이나 구매가 완료되지 않은 이유. 사용 환경 정보: 기기의 걸음 수 측정 지원 여부, 워치 페어링·위젯 추가·알림 허용 여부, 대략의 창조물 수. 기본 기기 정보: 기기 모델, iOS·앱 버전, 무작위 앱 인스턴스 식별자, IP 주소로 추정한 국가·지역. 걸음 수, 운동 세부 정보, 칼로리, 키, 몸무게, 창조물 이름은 받지 않아요. 신원과 연결되지 않으며, 광고 식별자를 사용하지 않아요. - RevenueCat(RevenueCat, Inc.) — 구매 제공 목적. 앱을 시작할 때마다 무작위 ID와 기본 기기·앱 정보를 받고, 다시 부화하기, 새 알 또는 옷장 아이템을 구매하거나 코드를 사용하면 구매 정보(상품, 가격, 일시, App Store 국가)도 받아요. RevenueCat 개인정보처리방침
- Apple. 결제, iCloud, 건강, 알림은 Apple 개인정보 처리방침에 따라 제공돼요. 저희는 결제 정보를 받지 않아요.
저희는 개인정보를 판매하거나, 광고 목적으로 제공하거나, 다른 회사의 앱과 웹사이트에 걸쳐 사용자를 추적하지 않아요.
4. 알림
알이 준비됐다는 알림 등 Ambly가 보여 주는 알림은 기기에서 예약되며, 알림 서버가 보내지 않아요. Ambly 설정이나 iPhone 설정에서 끌 수 있어요.
5. 보유 기간과 파기
- 앱 데이터는 사용자가 삭제할 때까지 기기와 iCloud에 보관돼요. Ambly를 삭제하면 기기에만 보관된 정보가 모두 삭제되고, 나머지는 설정 → [이름] → iCloud → 계정 저장 공간 관리(또는 저장 공간) → Ambly에서 데이터를 삭제하세요. 삭제된 데이터는 Apple이 제거하며 복구할 수 없어요.
- 분석 데이터는 Google의 보관 설정에 따라 일정 기간 보관된 후 삭제돼요.
- 구매 기록은 구매 제공과 법적·회계 의무에 필요한 기간 동안 RevenueCat과 Apple이 보관해요.
- 건강·동작 접근 권한은 건강 앱이나 iPhone 설정에서 언제든 해제할 수 있어요.
데이터는 암호화된 연결로 전송되며, iCloud 데이터는 사용자의 Apple 계정으로 보호돼요.
6. 국외 이전
앱을 사용하는 동안 3항의 정보가 네트워크를 통해 미국(및 각 사가 운영하는 국가)의 Google LLC와 RevenueCat, Inc.로 전송되며, 5항의 기간 동안 보관돼요. 각 사의 연락처는 위에 연결된 개인정보처리방침에 있어요. 원하지 않으면 앱 사용을 중단할 수 있어요.
7. 이용자의 권리
관련 법에 따라 개인정보의 열람, 정정, 삭제, 처리 정지를 요청할 수 있어요. 아래 이메일로 요청해 주세요. 분석·구매 기록은 이름이나 계정과 연결되지 않으므로, 확인을 위해 구매 일시 등의 정보를 요청드릴 수 있어요.
8. 아동
Ambly는 만 14세 미만(한국 외 지역은 만 13세 미만) 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 알면서 수집하지 않아요.
9. 변경
방침이 바뀌면 새 시행일과 함께 이 페이지에 게시할게요.
